Ryan Jackson, 30, of Gaufron, Rhayader, was caught via his Facebook page
during a joint investigation by Powys County Council and Sky. Jackson sold modified set-top boxes, Amazon Fire stick and pirate
IPTV subscriptions and admitted the charges. He has been fined by a court in Wales, £1,340 plus £4,070 costs and a £34 surcharge.. An investigation
by Sky and Trading Standards concluded the 30-year-old had cost the
broadcaster around £48,000, although his own profits could've been as
low as £840.
Sentencing Jackson, magistrate Ingrid Gallagher said: "It was not an
intelligent thing to do. You are paying much more than you made."
